After returning to Dhaka from the Caribbean Premier League, Shakib met coach Shane Jurgensen, and according to the coach, an X-ray of the finger revealed a tear in the left thumb. BCB physician Monirul Islam said, "Shakib suffered the injury during practice at Tridents in Barbados and it will take mid-September for him to recover."
Meanwhile, Dhaka Premier Division League is starting from September 3rd after several postponements. But due to injury, Kala Bagan Sports Club is not getting Shakib on the field from the start. However, he will practice physical fitness even if he can't get the bat or ball in hand at this time.
