US Central Command Commander General Michael Eric Kurila said on Wednesday (November 16) that the Israeli tanker was a Liberian-flagged vessel. It is called Pacific Zircon. The tanker was operated by Singapore-based Pacific Shipping. It is a company originally owned by Israeli tycoon Idan Ofer.
In a statement, Pacific Shipping Company said the oil tanker was carrying Pacific Zircon gas when it was hit by a missile 240 kilometers off the coast of Oman. They are communicating with the crew.
No injuries or contamination have been reported yet. All crew are safe and well. The structure of the tanker was slightly damaged. But no water was added to it.
