The Dhaka Times Desk Bangladesh government requested to remove three contents from Facebook. Every year Facebook gets requests to remove content from different countries around the world. Facebook publishes the list of those requests in the form of a transparency report.
On April 11, Facebook published the last year's transparency report. The report shows that between July and December 2013, the Bangladesh government requested Facebook to remove three contents. Also, last January, the Bangladesh government requested the information of 12 people from Facebook. This was revealed in Facebook's first transparency report. Facebook did not elaborate on the content removed in its report. "We have blocked access to government-requested content out of respect for local government laws," Facebook said in its report.

The United States is by far the largest requester for personal account information. In the past six months, they have sought personal information from 18,715 users. India is next, with 4,765 content removal requests last year. This is the most requested content removal. Facebook publishes its transparency report every six months. Earlier in 2011, WikiLeaks revealed that Facebook had shared users' personal information with various US government intelligence agencies.
