After the admission committee meeting at 11:30 am on Tuesday, the vice-chancellor of the university said. AMS Arefin Siddique confirmed this information to journalists. The meeting was held in the Senate building of DU.

The Vice-Chancellor said, 'The condition given for admission to the English Department was to get at least 15 marks in Elective English. It has been reduced to 8 now and to get English subject you need to get 18 marks in General English. As per this condition only those students who are eligible for English subject from 'B' unit will be admitted. And the rest of the seats will be filled from 'D' unit.
