Today, March 26, is the 46th great independence day of Bangladesh and the national day stained with the blood of millions of martyrs. 26 Rmach is a memorable day in the history of Bangladesh, it is the name of bloody joy. March 26 is the day to fly the red green flag of Bangladesh in the heart of the world.
In the midnight of 25th March 1971, the Pak invasion forces pounced on the sleeping unarmed Bengalis with modern weapons. To submerge the legitimate rights obtained by the Bengali independence movement and the results of the then national elections in a flood of blood, the Pakistani invading forces started mass killings across the country. On that dark night of 1971, the invaders killed countless unarmed patriots and the best children of the country in a brutal massacre at Dhaka University's Jagannath Hall, Iqbal Hall, Rokeya Hall, teachers' residence, EPR headquarters in Pilkhana, Rajarbagh police line. On the night of March 25, 1971, Bengali members of the police, EPR and the army started resistance, along with the common people. As a result, the final victory was achieved on December 16, 1971 after 9 months of bloody war.
