Shakib had 4983 runs in ODI cricket before coming to the field for today's match. He needed just 17 runs to reach this new milestone.
After coming down to play in such an equation, he reached 5000 runs by playing the ball of Protea bowler Pretorius. Also, Shakib Al Hasan has set a new record.
Before Shakib, Tamim Iqbal was the only member of Bangladesh in the five thousand club for Bangladesh. Tamim scored 5743 runs in 173 matches.

However, compared to these four great cricketers, he has taken more than 5,000 and 200 wickets in the fastest time. Shakib played 178 matches to make this record. Earlier, Jacques Kallis had played 221 matches and set the record for the fastest time.
