Know that not all reasons break the fast

The Dhaka Times Desk Among the five pillars of Islam, fasting is one of the pillars that Allah himself wants to reward. Things happen while fasting that many people think that his fast may have been broken. So he started drinking. Today we will know that all the acts or happenings while fasting do not break the fast or makruh.

Forgetting to eat and drink:
If you forget to eat something while fasting, it does not invalidate the fast, but when you remember the fast, then you cannot swallow even a bit. Also, if someone forgets to have intercourse with his wife, then his fast will not be invalidated, but he must refrain from intercourse when the word of fasting comes to him while his wife is having intercourse. [Beheshti Jeor : 3/14, Kuduri : 45]

Use of Attar-Surma or oil while fasting:
It is permissible to apply atar-surma or oil while fasting. It does not spoil the fast or makruh. [Beheshti Jeor : 3/10, Kuduri : 45]

Fasting in the unclean body:
Ghusl is obligatory due to cohabitation with wife or dream dosha but you wake up at a time when you go to ghusl and there is no more time for sahri. In this condition, just washing hands and face and eating sahri will not harm the fast. Even if you dream during the day, the fast is not broken. Of course, if the obligatory bath is done late for no reason, it will be a separate sin for him. [Ilmul Fiqah : 3/31]

Watery mouth after ablution or ablution:
After performing ablution or ablution, one should spit out the mouth two times, but if some water remains in the mouth, swallowing it does not invalidate the fast.

If mosquitoes or dust get in through the mouth or nose:
If mosquitoes, smoke or dust enters the throat unintentionally, then the fast will not be invalidated, but if it is done intentionally, the fast will be invalidated. [Beheshti Jeor : 3, Alamgiri : 1/298, Kitabul Fiqhi : 1/922]

Sweating or tears running down the face:
If the tears or sweat of the fasting person enters the mouth and it is small like one or two drops, then the fast will not be invalidated. But if the amount of water is too much or its salinity enters the mouth, and if it is swallowed, then the fast will be broken. [Alamgiri : 2/17]

If the nose bleeds:
Many people experience nosebleeds during fasting due to various problems. Even its effect is found in spittle, but if the blood does not reach the stomach then there is no harm in fasting. [Fatwae Darul Uloom: 6/406]

Water reaching the throat through the nose:
If during ablution, the water passes through the nose through the soft part of the nose, either unintentionally or knowingly, causing pain, then the fast will not be invalidated, but if the water enters the throat from the nose, the fast will be invalidated. [Imdadul Fatawa: 1/172, 2/129]

Swallowing food between teeth:
If a food object is stuck between the teeth, it is swallowed without taking it out of the mouth. If its quantity is one grain boot or more, then the fast will be invalidated. And if it is less than one boot, then the fast will not be invalidated. But if it is taken out of the mouth and then swallowed, even if it is a boot or less, the fast will be invalidated. [Beheshti Jeor : 3/11, Alamgiri : 1/208]

Taking eye medicine:
Giving medicine to the eyes will not invalidate the fast. Even though it may be felt, there is no harm in fasting. [Fatawaye Alamgiri : 2/18]

Vomiting while fasting:
Involuntarily vomiting a little or a lot does not invalidate the fast. However, the fast will be invalidated if the vomiting is intentional and the mouth is full. And if it is less than this, even by intentionally vomiting, the fast will not be invalidated. If a little vomiting occurs and returns to the throat on its own, the fast will not be broken. However, if it is withdrawn intentionally, the fast will be invalidated. [Beheshti Jeor : 3/12, Alamgiri : 1/202]

Flow of saliva or mucus from the nose to the throat:
The fast is not broken if saliva or spittle is swallowed or enters the throat due to forceful pulling of nasal mucus. [Beheshti Jeor : 3/12, Alamgiri : 9/27]

Bathing repeatedly or keeping a wet handkerchief on the head during fasting:
Repeated bathing while fasting or intentionally putting a wet handkerchief on the head will not harm the fast. [Fatawae Darul Uloom: 6/406 and 6/407, Raddul Muhtar: 2/156, Alamgiri: 1/186]
Apart from this, the fast is not broken by giving water to the nose and mouth which is cool due to heat. [Ilm al-Fiqhi: 3/33]
