A few very important short duas that everyone should know

The Dhaka Times Desk Today we will learn some important small duas which are beneficial for all of us. Duas which are very necessary for our protection from danger, freedom from poverty and paradise. Very small but more virtuous. So let's learn.

1. Prayer for forgiveness from sin:

Our first father Hazrat Adam (A.S.) and mother Hawa (A.S.) taught this dua to them to seek forgiveness and repent when they disobeyed Allah's prohibitions. If they ask for forgiveness through this dua, Allah Ta'ala forgives them.

رَبَّنَا ظَلَمْنَا أَنفُسَنَا وَإِن لَّمْ تَغْفِرْ لَنَا وَتَرْحَمْنَا لَنَكُونَنَّ مِنَ الْخَاسِرِينَ

Pronunciation: Rabbana Zoalamna ang-fusana wa-illam tag-firlana, watar ha'mana lana kunanna minal khasirin.

Meaning: O our Lord! We have wronged ourselves, so if You do not forgive us and have mercy on us, we will surely be among the losers. Surah Al-A'raf: 23.

2. Dua for beneficial knowledge and holy livelihood:

Allah

Pronunciation: Allah-humma inni as-aluka ilman nafi'an, wa rizqban ta'ayyiban, wa a'malam mutaqbabbalan.

Meaning: O Allah! I pray to you for beneficial knowledge, holy livelihood and acceptable deeds. Ibn Majah, Hisnul Muslim page 113.

3. A beautiful prayer between two prostrations:

Allah

Pronunciation: Allah-Hummagfirli, Warha'mani, Wahdini, Wajburani, Waa'fini, Waryukwani, Warfa'ni.

Meaning: O Allah! Forgive me, have mercy on me, guide me to the right path, compensate me for all my losses, grant me security, grant me sustenance and increase my dignity”.
(Abu Dawud: 850, Tirmidhi: 284, 285, Ibn Majah: 898)

4. Dua for remembrance of Allah and worshiping Him beautifully:

The Holy Prophet Rasulullah (SAW) used to recite this Dua more and more after the Namaz.

Allah

Pronunciation: Allahumma a'inni a'ala dhikrika wa shukrika wa Husni Ibadatika.

Meaning: O Allah! Help me in Your remembrance, Your gratitude and Your beautiful worship”.

5. Prayer for Paradise and protection from Hell:

God bless you

Pronunciation: Allah-Humma Inni Asalukal Jannata Wa A'Uzu Bika Minannar.

Meaning: O Allah! I seek Paradise from You and refuge from Hell.

Rasulullah (SAW) said: “Whoever prays to Allah for Paradise 3 times, prays to Allah for Paradise, O Allah, grant him Paradise. He who seeks refuge with Allah 3 times from Hell, Hell makes dua to Allah, O Allah deliver him from Hell”.
Tirmidhi: 2572, Ibn Majah 4340,

6. Prayer for forgiveness of sins and death as a believer:

رَبَّنَا فَاغْفِرْ لَنَا ذُنُوبَنَا وَكَفِّرْ عَنَّا سَيِّئَاتِنَا وَتَوَفَّنَا مَعَ الْأَبْرَارِ

Pronunciation: Rabbana fagfir lana junubana wa-kaffir anna sayya-tina wa tawaffana ma'al abra-r.

Meaning: O our Lord! Forgive us our sins, remove our evil deeds and grant us a righteous death. Surah Ale Imran: 193

7. Prayer for freedom from sorrow, poverty and debt:

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوئُ بِكَ مِنَ الْهَمِّ وَالْحَزَنِ, وَالْعَجْزِ وَالْكَسَلِ, وَالْبُخْلِ وَالْجُبْنِ, وَضَلَعِ الدَّيْنِ وَغَلَبَةِ الرِّجَالِ

Pronunciation: Allah-Humma Inni A'Uzu Bika Minal Hammi Wal Ha'Zani, Wal A'azi Wal Kasali, Wal Bukhli Wal Zubni, Wa Dwalai'd-Dwaini Wa Galabatir Riza-l.

Meaning: O Allah! Surely I seek refuge in You from anxiety and sorrow, from laziness and incapacity, from miserliness and cowardice, from the burden of debt and from human oppression. [Bukhari: 2893]
