The Dhaka Times Desk This year's Eid program has been very busy with big screen and small screen. Government and private channels have organized various special programs throughout the week.
Film is one of the oldest means of Eid entertainment. Once when Eid came, cinema halls were crowded. Currently it does not look like that. However, the presence of viewers on the big screen is being noticed this Eid. Although the number of cinema halls is gradually decreasing, the ones that are open are crowded during the festival. Audiences are returning to the theaters to watch Bengali movies, and on the small screen, they are flocking to comedy-style dramas.
Desi films are portraying a different time on the color screen with contemporary story screenplays.
5 big screen movies have been released this Eid. Among them, Jazz Multimedia and India's joint production film Poraman 2 is on top of the box office list. Viewers want entertainment in Bengali films as well as life stories.
The small screen, that is, the TV channels are also quite crowded this time. The country's private televisions have arranged 100% home-centric entertainment on Eid. There are more than 400 dramas, telefilms, magazine shows, music shows and Bengali movies in the week-long Eid programme.
Comedy plays are in high demand especially in this festival. 7 episodes or mini-serials tend to show viewers more.
All in all, this year's Eid has kept the viewers quite busy on TV and movies. These entertainments at home seem to have given the people of the country a lot of joy.
