How to grab the information?
1. Suppose you play games or participate in various competitions from your Facebook account. In this case, they collect a lot of your information.
2. Many websites ask you to sign up with Facebook when signing up for an account. In this case you also sign up through Facebook for easy sign up. Just then that website collects a lot of your Facebook information.
3. While visiting various social sites or websites some messages will show you and ask your permission to see many of your information. In this case, they can see or grab your various information as you wish.
4. There are many third parties who can collect information about what you search online, which websites you visit, etc. through various means.
How to maintain privacy:
If you don't want third party apps to monitor you then you can protect your privacy by changing smartphone settings. Here's what you need to do
1. For Android phones, go to Settings > Apps > App permissions > Location.
Or for iPhone, go to Settings > Privacy > Location Services > manage location access on a per-app basis. You can control privacy from options.
2. If you want to enter a link given on Facebook, copy that link and open the page in a new tab.
3. Do not use Facebook account while registering on any website. Sign up by entering the information normally.
4. While using various websites or apps, read carefully all the permissions that you will be asked for and decide whether to allow or not.
5. You can use Private Browser to keep the privacy of what you search, what websites you visit and your IP address, etc. Generally, the browsers that we use store various information from cookies, browsing history, web form entries and more. However, Google, Firefox and Safari have the option of private or 'incognito' browsing mode. In this mode your browsing history, cookies, temporary files and web entries will be deleted automatically. Open the browser (Firefox, Chrome, Chromium or Safari) then click on the Menu button (top right corner of the browser). Now click on New Private/Incognito Window option. Then browse as you wish. Now when you exit the browser after browsing, your browsing history, cookies, temporary files and web entries will be deleted automatically.
