The Dhaka Times Desk Taliban activity appears to have been limited recently. The United States has expressed its willingness to hold direct talks with the Taliban to end the 17-year war in Afghanistan.

According to Al Jazeera, the meeting between the Taliban and senior US officials has been discussed for the past few weeks. US talks with the Taliban are believed to be far advanced. After General John Nicholson's statement, it became clear that US diplomatic talks with the Taliban had gone too far.
It is known that the United States has been trying to continue the ceasefire agreement for a long time to disarm the Taliban fighters. Nicolas said the NATO-led support mission would soon reach an agreement to ensure a ceasefire and full disarmament.
Nicholas also said, "US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said that the United States is always ready to negotiate with the Taliban." Not only that, he also expressed his desire to discuss the Taliban issue with other powers of the world.
Aljazeera tried to contact the Taliban after expecting such a comment from the US. However, although no immediate comment was received from their side, it is believed that there may be a benefit in the future with these issues.
