When he had time, he sat down to read with a book. He cannot live without education. So he is desperate to pass the PhD exam from Hampi University. He is probably the only older candidate to take the PhD entrance exam. He has already written 15 books. He has a degree in law and also has a master's degree. However, Sharanbasavaraj Bisarahalli does not want to be deficient in studies.

Saranbasavaraj Visarahalli was born in 1929 in Koppal, Karnataka. He was involved in the freedom movement at an early age. He got the taste of victory in the freedom struggle as a teenager. Then after passing intermediate he married Laithadevi. At that time he joined a primary school as a teacher. Sharanbasavaraj Visarahalli retired as a teacher in 1991. After that he decided to educate himself in higher education. Then he started studying law. After graduating in law, he pursued his master's degree. He received his master's degree in Kannada literature from Karnataka University. But his dream of PhD was not fulfilled then. This is because he got less than 55 percent marks. So he did Masters again in that subject. This time, as he got 66 percent marks, the door of PhD entrance exam was opened for him. I have to finish my studies next year.

Sharanbasavaraj Bisarahalli told the news media, 'I took the exam last year but could not pass. I will give the exam this year too. I am very optimistic about this exam.'

Sharanbasavaraj Visarahalli's elder son Sivananda said, 'Father was a freedom fighter. His contribution to the Hyderabad Movement is undeniable. He is a very disciplined person. Woke up at 3 am, prayed. Then read the newspaper. Then he sat down to read. He loves to read till he falls asleep. Father gets pension in both freedom fighters and teaching. He does not keep a single money to himself. Give everything to social service work.'

What will he do if he passes the PhD entrance exam? In reply, Sharanbasavaraj Visarahalli said, 'I will read the literature. It is a part of Kannada literature. I will look for a guide before I pass. With his help, I will move forward!' Such crazy people are probably not to be found in the society.
