Launched late last month as Facebook F-8 or F-8, this app has been launched experimentally in Colombia.
According to a report by US-based technology portal The Verge, initially the interface of this 'Facebook dating' will be similar to its main rival Hinge. However, the Facebook dating app will connect active members of various groups and events as well as users of other topics. In this way, the Facebook authorities are going to bring a big range for the users of the dating pool. Also, this new app will encourage users interested in dating to meet directly in public places!
"Dating is something we've seen among Facebook users for a long time," Nathan Sharp, product manager at social networking site Facebook, told The Verge. We will make it very easy and smooth so that a person can get to know each other very easily. So we thought now is a good time."
According to the Facebook authorities, this dating app is initially made only for smartphone-based mobiles. This is not currently being considered for desktop computers. Only users 18 years of age or older can use this dating app. The user does not have to spend any money to use the app. Also, the Facebook authorities have announced that there will be no ads or 'premium features' in the app.
