The Dhaka Times Desk Google, the world's largest search engine based on the Internet, has decided to boycott the economic conference to be held in Saudi Arabia due to the disappearance of journalist Jamal Khashoggi.
Google entered the list just as many international companies and institutions around the world are announcing a boycott of the upcoming conference due to Jamal Khashoggi's disappearance. This economic conference is scheduled to be held for three days from October 23.
Google Cloud CEO Diane Greene gave this information in a statement, according to Reuters.
According to Diane Greene, Google's 'Alphabet Inc' is the last company that will not participate in this Saudi conference.
Previously, international taxi company Uber CEO Dara Khoshrushahi, Ford car company chairman and American multinational investment bank JP Morgan CEO Jamie Dimon, including many individuals and organizations have announced a 3-day boycott of the conference.
Media outlets like CNN, The Financial Times, New York Times, CNBC, Bloomberg and Fox News also announced a boycott of the conference.
The Saudi crown prince called the conference to attract foreign investment in his efforts to diversify the Saudi Arabian economy.
However, it is believed that his plan is going to be seriously hampered by the decision to boycott foreign companies and important media.
