The Dhaka Times Desk If you want to travel from Himalayan Nepal at a low cost, you can travel by road. To travel to Nepal by road you will need a transit visa from India. Changrabandha/Raniganj will give entry and exit port while taking transit visa. A separate visa is not required for Nepal. On arrival visa will be available on arrival in Nepal. This sticker visa will be available at the port of entry. For citizens of SAARC countries, no visa fee is required for the first visit of the same year. If you want to travel for the second time in the same year, you have to pay a visa fee of Tk 2,200 for a 15-day multiple visa. If you want, you can get the visa from the Embassy of Nepal in Dhaka.
Go directly to Burimari border by bus. After completing all the immigration work there, you will enter Changrabandha. There are also several activities. After work you have to go to Raniganj. You have to enter Nepal's crabbed through the Raniganj border of India. You can go directly to Kankarbhita from Siliguri by bus. After completing the immigration, you will get the bus from Kankarvita to Pokhara. The cost will be Rs 1,500 per person. It will take more than 12 hours. Pokhara is a beautiful city standing by the Phewa Lake.
Nestled between mountains and lakes, this city is called the queen of Nepal. The Himalayan peaks can be seen from here. You can visit Phewa Lake, Davis Falls, International Mountain Museum, Mahendra Caves. Renting a car for one day will cost about 5 thousand rupees to visit Pokhara. You will also find nice hotels to stay at the lake side. The cost is between 1 thousand to 2000 rupees.
You can do paragliding in Pokhara if you want. Paragliding costs around $55 to $60 per person.
Don't forget to watch the sunrise from Sarangkot. It takes 30 to 40 minutes to reach Sarangkot from Pokhara. It is a mountain peak. One of the most beautiful sunrises in the world can be seen from here. Before the sun peeks out, the white Annapurna starts to turn orange and yellow. Thousands of tourists flock to Sarangkot every day to see this scene. Fish tail can be seen from here. Don't forget to visit the World Peach Pagoda at the top of the hill.
Pokhara can travel to Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal. If you want to come by bus, it will cost 450 to 800 rupees per person. If you want to reserve the car, the cost will increase several times. It will take 7 to 8 hours. Kathmandu is a busy city. There are plenty of good quality hotels to stay at. The cost is between 600 to 1500 rupees. You can shop here as you wish. But you have to bargain a lot. You can see Durbar Square. Don't forget to visit Nagarkot. Nagarkot is located 32 km east of Kathmandu. You can enjoy the amazing natural beauty by walking along the winding path between the clouds and the mountains.
You can get a bus to Kankarvita directly from Kathmandu bus stand. The rent will be from 1 thousand 100 rupees to 2 thousand rupees. It will take about 12 hours. From there take the same return route.
