Three films of Bangladesh in Asia Film Festival

The Dhaka Times Desk Asia Film Festival is going to sit in Barcelona for the 6th time. Three Bangladeshi films 'Kaler Putul', 'Dub' and 'Bhuban Majhi' will be screened in this film festival.

In March this year, the first film directed by Aka Reza Ghalib 'Kaler Putul' was released in the theaters of Bangladesh. Produced by Impress Telefilm, the film has been critically acclaimed in theaters as well as at various film festivals. This mystery film has been nominated for the Asia Film Festival to be held in Barcelona. Apart from this, 'Dubb' and 'Bhuban Majhi' will be shown in this show.

Aka Reza Ghalib, the producer of the film 'Kaler Putul', said that the Asia Film Festival is going to be held in Barcelona for the 6th time. The film 'Kale Putul' will be screened in the 'Discoveries' section of the festival.

The story and screenplay of this thriller film is written by Nasiful Waleed. The story of the film mainly revolves around 11 important characters. Starring Ferdous, Bithi Rani Saha, Jannatun Noor Moon, Shahed Ali, Raisul Islam Asad, Mahmudul Islam Mithu, Lutfar Rahman George, Ashish Khandkar, Ritu Sattar, Arif Ork. Music directed by Sunny Zubair.

It is known that more than 500 films from about 20 Asian countries were submitted to the Asia Film Festival this year. From there, a selection of one hundred recently released films were nominated for 'The Asian Film Festival Barcelona'. The 6th edition of the festival will be held at 3 different venues on October 31. This festival will continue till November 11.

The films will be screened at this year's Asia Film Festival in Barcelona under Official, Panorama, Netpack, Discoveries, Special, Competition and Retrospective categories. This year the 'Retrospective Section' is dedicated to Hirokazu Kori-Edara, the creator of the Japanese film 'Shoplifters' which won the 'Palme d'Or' at this year's Cannes Film Festival.

According to the official website of the Asia Film Festival in Barcelona, not only 'Kaler Putul' is from Bangladesh, but also Fakhrul Arefin Khan's 'Bhuban Majhi', which was released last year, and another much-discussed film by Mustafa Saryar Faruqi, 'Dub'. These two films 'Bhuban Majhi' and 'Dub' will be shown in this year's film festival in special and netpack categories respectively.
