The Dhaka Times Desk The morning-evening strike called by the camp is being observed laxly. Vandalism of cars, explosion of cocktails and sporadic clashes with the police took place here and there.
Traffic in the capital is normal. Long distance vehicles are closed. However, the number of private vehicles in the capital is very less as compared to other days. Rickshaw and CNG traffic is normal on every road in the capital.
In the morning, the police arrested 2 camp activists while picketing in Mirpur area. On the other hand, at the beginning of the hartal in the early morning, the Shibir workers took out a jhtica procession in Shahjadpur of the capital. During this time, the camp workers burst cocktails and set fire to tires on the road.
Police clashed with the camp workers when a procession was taken out in support of the strike at Bansree in Rampura around 7 am. At this time, it is said that the police detained 2 camp workers. Meanwhile miscreants set fire to a covered van of Milkvita Company in Azimpur early morning.
It is to be noted that the student camp called this hartal to demand the search of the camp's central president Delwar Hossain and other missing leaders.
