Declare the living dead in the ICU for money!

The Dhaka Times Desk 20-year-old Forkan, the accident patient in the ICU, was pronounced dead. Then he was brought home from the hospital. But it turns out he is still alive.

After it was known that he was alive, there was a lot of noise. When Forkan was taken out of the ambulance, his body was seen to move suddenly. The incident took place in Uttar Pradesh, India.

মুহূর্তে বদলে যায় সেখানকার পরিবেশ। শোকে মূহ্যমান এলাকা হয়ে উঠলো যেনো এক উত্‍‌ফুল্ল পরিবেশ। দাফনের প্রস্তুতি বাদ দিয়ে অবিলম্বে ফুরকানকে নিয়ে উত্তরপ্রদেশের রাম মনোহর লোহিয়া হাসপাতালে ছুটে গেলো তার পরিবার। সেখানে গিয়ে দেখা গেলো তখনও তরতাজা ছেলেটির শরীরে প্রাণ ধুকপুক করছে। সঙ্গে সঙ্গেই দেওয়া হলো অক্সিজেন সাপোর্ট।

২১ জুন সড়ক দুর্ঘটনার কবলে পড়ার পর হতে একটি বেসরকারি হাসপাতালে চিকিত্‍‌সা চলছিল ফুরকান নামের ওই ব্যক্তির। তার দাদা মহম্মদ ইরফানের অভিযোগ হলো, ‘হাসপাতালে ওকে আইসিইউতে রাখা হয় ও প্রতিদিন বড় অঙ্কের চার্জ নিতে থাকে ওরা। আমরা ৭ লাখ টাকা ইতিমধ্যেই দিয়েছি। যখন হাসপাতাল কর্তৃপক্ষকে জানালাম আমাদের আর কোনো টাকা নেই, তখন সোমবার ওরা ফুরকানকে মৃত বলে ঘোষণা করেন।

He further said that, 'After bringing him home, one of the family noticed that Furqan was breathing. Some even saw him move his hands and feet. That's when I admitted him to the hospital again.'

This incident has created a sensation in India. The local chief medical officer also assured that there will be a full investigation of the matter. Narendra Agarwal.
