Kabul bombing: Afghan president narrowly escapes life

Afghanistan's President Ashraf Ghani was giving a speech at the election rally in Parwan province in the northern part of the capital on Tuesday (September 17) local time. This attack happened at this time. However, no group has claimed responsibility for the incident so far.

Abdul Kashim Sanjin, chief officer of the provincial hospital, told the media that women and children are among the casualties.

He added that most of the casualties are believed to be civilians. Ambulance reached the spot almost immediately after the incident. The number of casualties in the blast is expected to rise.

It is to be noted that although attacks have occurred almost throughout the year, the number of attacks in different parts of the country has increased since the announcement of the election. Presidential elections are scheduled to be held in Afghanistan on September 28. The country's authorities have been blaming the armed militant group Taliban for these attacks around the election. Because of this, the country's top law enforcement agencies believe that there may be more attacks around the next elections.
