আমরা বিভিন্ন সময় অনেক রকম অদ্ভুত গ্রামের নাম ও কাহিনী শুনেছি। কিন্তু তাই বলে এমন এক গ্রামের কথা শোনা গেলো যে গ্রামের সবাই অন্ধ অর্থাৎ দৃষ্টি প্রতিবন্ধি। তবে সবচেয়ে আশ্চর্যের বিষয় হলো শুধু গ্রামের মানুষ অন্ধ তাই নয়, ওই গ্রামটি প্রাণীকূল অর্থাৎ পশু-পাখিও নাকি অন্ধ!এই বিশ্বেরই এক প্রান্তে এমন একটি গ্রাম রয়েছে, যে গ্রামের সব মানুষ দৃষ্টিহীন! এই গ্রামটির নাম টিলটেপেক। মেক্সিকোর ঘন অরণ্যের মধ্যে ছোট্ট একটি গ্রাম হলো এই টিলটেপেক গ্রাম। সেই গ্রামে বসবাস করে জাপোটেক জাতির প্রায় ৩শ’ মানুষ। শুনতে অবাক লাগলেও এটিই বাস্তব সত্যি যে, গ্রামটির প্রতিটি মানুষ যেমন দৃষ্টিহীন, তেমনি দৃষ্টিহীন গ্রামের পোষ্য প্রাণীও!
According to media reports, there is a tree called Labzuela in this village. Villagers consider this tree cursed. They believe that the Labzuela tree took away their sight. The migrants of the village also claimed that. Babies born in this village are initially healthy like 5 other newborns. But within a week, the children lose their sight.
The local administration and scientists started investigating why the people of that village were losing their eyesight. The researchers also investigated the story of the Labzuela tree that spread throughout the village. However, it can be seen that their blindness has nothing to do with that tree!
The scientists found out that there is a type of poisonous fly called 'black fly' in this dense forest. Which is seen in abundance in this Tiltepec village. The germs of these poisonous flea bites spread throughout the body. That is why children to old people and even animals are slowly losing their sight in this village.
When the Mexican government found out about the village, it tried to evacuate the residents. But that effort also failed. Because the people of the village are still reluctant to leave the land and go somewhere else. The government finally left the villagers to do what else.
