Then He created goodwill in your hearts, because of His grace you became brothers to each other. You were on the brink of the Fire, Allah saved you from it. Thus Allah makes His signs clear to you, so that you may be guided.'

The Russian president said from this long verse, 'Remember Allah's favor upon you when you were enemies to each other. Then He created goodwill in your hearts, so that by His grace you became brothers'.

Before quoting the Qur'anic verse, he also spoke to the President of Turkey and the President of Iran about the matter and they also expressed a positive attitude on the matter.
