Last Monday, Valley Governor Satyapal Malik held a security meeting with the Chief Secretary and Advisors of Jammu and Kashmir. After that the governor announced this decision.
A couple of months ago, Article 370 was abolished in the valley. Tourists were also ordered to leave the state after the special status of Jammu and Kashmir was revoked. Now that ban is being lifted. Tourists can go to the valley again.
It should be noted that on August 5, the central government of India abolished Article 370 in the valley. The valley was divided into two Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh by revoking the special status. The central government has claimed that this step has been taken for the betterment of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. From that time various measures were taken in the valley for the sake of security. Internet service was also stopped. Land telephone line disconnected. Additional troops were deployed. Schools and colleges there were closed for a long time. Even several top political figures of the valley were arrested.
Meanwhile, tourists were ordered to leave the state in a hurry. Amarnath Yatra started in early August. This year, the journey was stopped midway.
Pilgrims are then asked to go back. At that time it was said that there is a threat of terrorist sabotage. So this measure has been taken for the sake of safety. Tourists were then brought down to the plane with the help of Jammu and Kashmir government transport.
Due to the sudden decision of the government, the sufferings ended among the common people. Many people throng Srinagar airport hoping for plane tickets. The businessmen of the valley fell on their heads with this decision of the government. Tourism provides livelihood to a large part of the people here.
According to a statistic, about 5 lakh people come to this valley in the first 7 months of the year. About 350,000 pilgrims visited Jammu and Kashmir in July this year before the start of the Amarnath Yatra.
