To prevent drunkenness, there are various punishments in different places. However, the provision of punishment of feeding goat meat to the whole village in case of drunkenness is really novel. Such a novel punishment system was introduced in a village called Khatisitara in Bansakanthar, Gujarat, India.

According to Kolkata's Sanbad Pratidin, most of the people in the tribal-dominated village are used to drinking alcohol. In 2013-14 many people of this village died due to alcohol consumption. From then on, the villager can understand the dangers of drinking alcohol. Then they realize that almost everything is getting ruined due to the evil effects of addiction. Domestic violence is also increasing due to alcoholism. Moreover, even murders and fights are happening due to drinking. After that incident, the common people of the village learned. After that, they have raised the demand of banning alcohol by making it a law.

A resident of the village named Khimji Dungaisa told the media, "If someone drinks alcohol, a fine of Tk 2,000 is charged from the drunk person. A fine of Rs 5,000 is levied on those who create disturbance after drinking Besides the fine, the drunkard has to feed goat meat to 750 to 800 residents of the village. It costs about 20,000 rupees for each drunkard.

It is known that after the introduction of fines, the number of alcoholic drinks in the village is decreasing. Some of the villagers claim that after the introduction of this punishment, only two to four drunkards can be found in that village every year, which was many times more than before. Only one person was fined for drinking in 2018. However, after the provision of such fines, the number of alcoholic drinks decreased. Almost all the people of the village refrain from drinking this alcohol. Those who do not comply with this law have to face such fancy fines.
