The violence of wood smugglers seems to be increasing in the rainforest Amazon, known as the lungs of the world. The world's largest rainforest is gradually being destroyed.
The power of wood smugglers seems to be increasing day by day. These armed organizations go beyond the borders of Brazil. Traffickers are ready to do anything for the lucrative timber business worth billions of rupees. They started most of the fires. Even those traffickers do not hesitate to kill people. Indigenous people working to protect the Amazon are often killed by them.
However, various voluntary organizations continue to work to protect the Amazon. But their power is very insignificant compared to these smuggling mafias. Although various measures have been taken by the government to suppress the mafias, their violence is not decreasing. Many complain that members of government agencies are involved with the mafia.
Those who are going to work to protect the Amazon are being threatened with death. One person was killed recently. At least three hundred forest guards have been killed in attacks by smugglers in the last decade. Out of which 28 people died after 2015.
