"Ram temple will be built on the site of Babri Masjid in Ayodhya and alternatively 5 acres of land will be given to Muslim Waqf Board elsewhere for construction of mosque." The Supreme Court of India has ruled.

Through this verdict, the much-discussed Babri Masjid land ownership verdict of Uttar Pradesh, India was announced.

A five-member bench headed by Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi announced the verdict at around 10:30 am local time on Saturday.

Apart from the Chief Justice, this bench of the Supreme Court included Justices SA Bobde, DY Chandrachud, Ashok Bhushan and S Abdul Nazir.

While reading the verdict, Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi said that it is not at all possible to fix the ownership of land on faith. Nothing can be claimed from the structure. One's faith should not be taken away from another's rights.'

He also said, 'It is clear that all the items found due to the excavations of the Archaeological Survey of India, are not Islamic. Justice Gogoi read out the judgment in this decades-old historical case for about half an hour.

This time he also said, 'The judgment that was announced; That is the unanimous decision of the judge bench.'

It should be noted that more than 2,000 people lost their lives in Hindu-Muslim communal riots in 1992 centered on the controversial land ownership of Ajodha. A communal riot broke out when the country's hardline Hindus demolished the historic 16th-century Babri mosque to build a temple in Ayodhya.

Hindus believe that this mosque was built on the birthplace of their god Rama. However, Muslims say that there is no sign of Ram's birth at the site of Babri Masjid.

Meanwhile, the country's law enforcement agencies have taken additional security measures in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir in addition to the capital New Delhi based on the verdict of the Supreme Court. Schools and colleges in these states were also ordered to remain closed (on Saturday).

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has directed BJP leaders and ministers to refrain from making any comments that could inflame tension.

Meanwhile, Hindus will be able to build a Ram temple on the disputed land as a result of the much-discussed Babri Masjid case verdict in India. On the other hand, the court wanted to give 5 acres of land to the Muslims for the construction of the mosque. However, All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) president Asaduddin Weisi has strongly objected to taking this land.

He told reporters, 'I am not at all satisfied with this verdict. In this judgment, the real truth did not win. We are fighting for our legal rights. There is no need for the 5 acres of land that we have been asked to donate. Muslims in India can give so much land if they want. We don't want Khayrati's land.'

Asaduddin Weisi also said, 'We are fighting for our legal rights. My personal decision is that we should reject this 5 acre land proposal. But what the Muslim Board decides is up to them.'
