The Muslim Law Board will petition the Supreme Court for a review of the Babri Masjid case verdict. According to media sources, an application for reconsideration of the judgment will be filed within the next month. Yesterday (Sunday) the Muslim Personal Law Board informed the media after a meeting.

This month, the Supreme Court of the country ordered the construction of Ram Mandir on the disputed 2.77 land in the Ayodhya case verdict. The government has been asked to provide 5 acres of land elsewhere to the Sunni Waqf Board for constructing the mosque.

However, the Sunni Waqf Board had previously informed that they will not file any appeal against the Supreme Court's verdict. They mentioned the matter as 'closed chapter'.

However, several litigants including Jamiat Ulema-i Hind have been expressing dissatisfaction with this verdict since the beginning. For that reason, the Muslim Personal Law Board called a special meeting with the litigants yesterday (Sunday) to see if the case can be reconsidered or not. This decision was taken there.

After the meeting, a statement from the organization said, "We will not accept any land in exchange for mosques." Most of the litigants are keen to file a review petition.”

Even though the petition for reconsideration of the case has not been filed, the Sunni Waqf Board has not yet taken any decision on whether the 5 acres of land will be accepted in exchange for the mosque or not - this is what the media reported.
