BTRC is reducing the call rate by 65 percent!

Call rates are reduced by 65 percent for international voice calls only. According to a report in the media, now it is possible to talk abroad through the Internet very easily through various mobile apps such as Messenger, WhatsApp, Viber etc. Due to which the direct phone calls abroad have decreased. In this situation, BTRC has decided to reduce the call rate.

BTRC chairman Zahurul Haque said that following a proposal from the IGW Operators' Forum (IOF), the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission has taken such a decision in a recent meeting. International Gateway (IGW) operators are believed to be responsible for reducing international voice calls to Bangladesh from various countries.

In light of the International Long Distance Telecommunications Services (LDTS) Policy-2007, all mobile operators must make international calls through IGW operators.

It should be noted that after the advent of internet and mobile age, the income of BTRC has gone to zero quota. Because now people can talk at home at very low rates on mobile phones. With the advent of the Internet, people can easily communicate with expatriates abroad through Messenger, WhatsApp, Viber, Skype. That's why TND's phone is almost dead. That is why recently BTRC has brought the country's local call rate to zero. T&T to T&T call rates are now free at that location excluding monthly call charges. Unlimited talk time is given for a fixed price of 150 rupees. Still the phone is not being used like that. It is believed that local phone usage will increase especially if TND arranges new local connections by waiving the old bills. Then the experts think that there may be a revival in this sector.
