Bajra Shahi Mosque is a historical mosque located in Bajra Union under Sonaimuri Upazila of Noakhali District built in the 18th century. It is considered one of the "most significant historical structures" around Maizdi. Since November 29, 1998, Bangladesh Archeology Department has been working to protect the heritage of Bajra Shahi Mosque and preserve the rare artifacts.
The entrance to the mosque is decorated with mosaics like the mosque itself. This mosque is located in the village of Bajra, 20 kilometers (12 mi) north of Noakhali city. The mosque is surrounded by a wall, the entrance to the mosque is on the east side. The mosque is built on a high foundation on the western side of the lake.
According to history, this mosque was built by Aman Ullah in 1741-42 AD during the reign of Mughal Emperor Muhammad Shah. Between 1911 and mid-1928 Bajra zamindar Khan Bahadur Ali Ahmad and Khan Bahadur Muzir Uddin Ahmad repaired the mosque and decorated it with ceramic mosaics. This mosque is currently well preserved. It is in the list of protected places of the Department of Archaeology.
The interior of this mosque is divided into 3 sections by multi-peaked arches. This mosque is rectangular in shape (16 m × 7.32 m), the mosque is elongated in the north and south. There are also octagonal turrets at the four outer corners. The mosque also has a total of 5 doors, 3 in the east, 1 in the north and 1 in the south. The door projects outwards and has narrow minarets on both sides of the daja. Along the eastern 3 doors are qibla walls with 3 mihrabs inside. The middle mihrab is larger than the other two.
The interior of the mosque consists of two rooms divided into 3 parts by multi-grooved transverse arches. The roof has 3 cylindrical domes which are octagonal. Their tops are decorated with lotus and pitcher pinnacles.
