The view of the mosque you are seeing is the historic Dewan Sharif Mosque of Narsingdi. These three-domed mosques are a symbol of the Muslim civilization of the Mughal period.
This three-domed mosque is a symbol of Mughal era Muslim civilization located in Parulia village in Palash upazila of Narsingdi district. This mosque is also known as Parulia Mosque. The 400-year-old historic Parulia three-domed mosque still stands as a witness of time. It also houses the twin shrines of Dewan Sharif Khan, the fifth male subordinate of Isha Khan, and Zainab Bibi, the daughter of his wife Murshid Quli Khan.
Zainab Bibi built this mosque with three domes in 1719 Hijri. Craftsmen were brought from Iran, Baghdad, Yemen to build and craft the mosque.
It is known that from 1580 AD to 1722, the present Narsingdi (in this area of Dhaka district) was known as Maheshwardi. In 1717, Murshid Quli Khan was appointed Subedar of Bengal and married his youngest daughter Bibi Zainab to Dewan Sharif Khan, the fifth son of Isha Khan's fifth subordinate, Manwar Khan, and appointed the son-in-law as Dewan of Maheshwardi Pargana.
In 1719 Hijri, Dewan Sharif Khan's wife Zainab Bibi built the mosque according to the needs of the people of the area. This mosque has 12 bighas of land. There are 4 well-built ponds. The mosque is built on a 60 feet length pillar with 5 feet wide walls, solid stone pillars in between. The entrance to the mosque has a main gate, 3 doors on the east side, one door each on the north-south side. The masjid has a spacious courtyard inside the fortified wall. There are 2 towering minarets at the north-east corner of the compound. The crafts of the mosque are very artistic. So many years ago
Although the mosque was built, there is no way to understand that this mosque was actually built hundreds of years ago.
