Atiqul Islam was elected in the North and Fazle Noor Tapas in the South

According to the announced results, it can be seen that Tapas got 4 lakh 24 thousand 595 votes in the boat symbol in Dhaka South. His nearest rival is BNP candidate Engineer Ishraq Hossain who got 2 lakh 36 thousand 512 votes. In other words, tapas got 1 lakh 88 thousand 83 votes more than grains of rice and was elected mayor privately.

On the other hand, Atiqul Islam got 4 lakh 15 thousand 802 votes in the boat symbol in Dhaka North. His closest rival is BNP candidate Tabith Awal, who got 242,841 votes. Awami League candidate was leading by 1 lakh 72 thousand 961 votes.

Meanwhile, BNP has called for a morning-evening hartal in the capital Dhaka after rejecting the Dhaka City Corporation elections. BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has announced this hartal program in Dhaka city from 6 am to 6 pm today Sunday (February 2).
