On the eve of the 92nd Academy Awards or Oscar announcements, Russian cyber security company Kaspersky released the list of the most dangerous films nominated for Oscars.
According to a Forbes report on Kaspersky researchers, experts found 925 malware in downloads of the Oscar-nominated images. The most dangerous movie for them is 'Joker'.
According to a Forbes report, out of 925 malware that Kaspersky found in Oscar-nominated films, 304 were found in the film 'Joker'. Benedict Cumberbatch starrer '1917' is second in the list of dangerous films. 215 malware found in this image. Martin Scorsese's 'The Irishman' is at the third position on the list. This image contains 179 malicious files.
Kaspersky researchers urge caution for those who download or view these images from untrusted sources online. The harmful links in these image files, if clicked in any way, can damage the device. Kaspersky researchers also offer some security tips for downloading movies online.
The researchers said, before downloading movies from online, one must check the release date of the Oscar nominated films. Do not under any circumstances click on any link that says to watch an advance preview of the film.
