One of the reasons why this virus has become an epidemic is the fact that no vaccine has been discovered so far. Doctors are trying to save those who are affected with different medicines. Doctors are sometimes using drugs for HIV, sometimes Ebola or malaria.
The World Health Organization (WHO) is working on 4 drugs that are being tested on patients in different parts of the world.
Recently confirming the information, WHO said that two of these drugs are cocktails. The first of which is a combination of Ebola and HIV vaccines. These include the Ebola drug Remdesivir and the HIV drug Lopinavi.
The second, on the other hand, is a cocktail of HIV drugs lopinavir and ritonavir plus interferon beta. And the third is the antimalarial drug chloroquine. The fourth is the Ebola drug Remdesivir.
The organization also said that clinical trials are needed before using these drugs on patients. The reason is that liver toxicity has also been observed in previous use of Ebola drugs.
