According to the Indian news media Anandabazar Patrika, 9 youths from Howrah in West Bengal returned to their home village in Malda. However, these 9 youths did not enter the house due to the fear of spreading the corona virus. They have built a quarantine center in Ambagan on the banks of Kalindri river in the area. These 9 residents of Satichra village in Engrezbazar block of Malda are spending days away from family and villagers in the temporary camp provided by Tripal.
Local clubs and people have also helped them stay in quarantine in Ambagan. They also arranged food for these workers.
It is known that the 9 youths of Satichara village worked as laborers while staying in Howrah. They lost their jobs in the lockdown and fell into trouble. They were also in quarantine for 14 days in Howrah. They contacted Englishbazar MLA Niharranjan Ghosh as they ran out of money.
Later, on the initiative of Niharranjan Ghosh, Chintu Halder and those 9 workers returned to the village on April 25. They also went to Maldah Medical College and Hospital for health check-up. The hospital authorities have advised them to stay in home quarantine. However, their number of rooms at home was not enough. It will not be possible to follow the rules of quarantine in each person's house with two rooms each. Niharranjan Ghosh said, 'The awareness of those youths really deserves appreciation. However, measures will be taken by talking to the administration about keeping it in government quarantine.'
