The 37-year-old journalist, Linda Tirado, a mother of two, claimed that the police fired to disperse the protest. At that time a rubber bullet hit him in the eye. Linda told the media that because of that, she lost her vision like forever.
The photojournalist traveled from Nashville to Minneapolis last Friday to cover the anti-black protests. While recording various moments of the protest, suddenly a rubber bullet hit him directly in the eye.
"At that moment I felt like my face had exploded," Linda said. Although the bullet was surgically removed from his eye, doctors said he would never see again in the future.
After surgery, he will need to rest for at least two weeks. Linda also shared a picture of herself on social media on Sunday.
America has been in turmoil since the killing of African-American George Floyd last week. From Minneapolis to New York to Los Angeles, this fire of protest has spread everywhere. After four consecutive nights of intense tension, members of the National Guard were deployed to Minnesota.
