The Dhaka Times Desk Some shocking pictures of the brutal beating and killing of Indian Army personnel on the Ladakh border have surfaced.
An Indian media called The Easternlink claimed to have received these photos from the country's army. Easternlink said that several photos of Indian soldiers who were killed in a clash with the Chinese army in Ladakh on June 15 are available from army sources.
The Indian media also claimed that at least 44 Chinese soldiers were killed in the clash that day. However, Easternlink reported that it could not collect any pictures of Chinese soldiers casualties.
On Saturday, Beijing officially commented for the first time on the bloody clash between Chinese troops and the neighboring Indian military along the disputed border in the Himalayan region. China has accused Indian soldiers of deliberate provocation with these comments.
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lijiang Zhao said that Indian troops had crossed the border into Chinese territory and carried out the attack. This led to a fierce physical conflict between the military forces of the two countries.
Zhao also said the clash occurred at a time when tensions between the two countries had been reduced.
He further said that despite the calm situation in the Galwan Valley, on June 15, Indian troops crossed the Line of Actual Control and entered Chinese territory again to deliberately provoke. Indian frontline troops also launched violent attacks on Chinese officers and soldiers.
The Chinese official added that although the Chinese troops went there to negotiate with the Indian troops to normalize the situation. However, when the violent attack by the Indian soldiers turned into a physical clash, there were casualties.
Chinese official Zhao said that since last April, India has been constructing roads, bridges and other structures along the Line of Actual Control of the Galwan Valley.
