SV Subramanian, who led the study and is a professor of public health at Harvard University in the United States, asked the reason for this, he told the news media BBC, 'Overall, we have come to the conclusion that, when infected, women (in India) do not have a specific advantage to survive. .'
He also said, 'In their (women's) case, it is unclear how much biological structure is responsible for such incidents and how much social factors are involved behind it. But gender differences may also be an important factor in the Indian context.'
