He also said that the drug, approved by Biocon, can be used in the treatment of Covid patients suffering from severe respiratory problems.
In this regard, a medical expert of the country told news agency PTI that 'this approval was given only after its experimental use on Covid-19 patients showed success. An expert committee consisting of pulmonologists, pharmacologists and medical experts of AIIMS said that the use of this drug for the treatment of cytokine release syndrome has given satisfactory results.
He also said that the drug, manufactured by Biocon, has been used for the past few years to treat psoriasis.
However, before applying this medicine, doctors or medical institutions must obtain written consent from each patient.
