Suppose a person is given a memory that he ate at Petpur two hours ago. Even on an empty stomach, his faulty memory will remind him of what he ate a while ago. This is quite embarrassing. The scientists implanted a memory in the heads of the rats under his study, that when they were previously placed in a blue chamber, their legs were given a severe electric shock. But nothing like that actually happened. But because of the transfer of the false memory, whenever the mice were subsequently placed in the blue chamber, they were seen to behave in a very fearful and confused manner. Even before this, scientists were able to transmit some false memories related to past memories. But the specialty of this team, led by MIT scientist Susumu Tongawa, is that they were able to transmit completely new memories. Tongawa, who is optimistic about the transmission of such memories to humans, said, 'The technology of false memory transmission will not be much different between mice and humans. So if we succeed in something like that soon, then there will be no surprise.'
