In countries like China and India, BCG vaccination is brought under government programs. The death rate in these countries is also relatively low. A section of doctors also claimed that in these countries, BCG vaccination is protecting people from the deadly effects of corona.
The US study analyzed data on the number of daily infections in 135 countries and the number of daily deaths in 134 countries in the first 30 days after the outbreak. That is why the researchers came to this conclusion. However, scientists have also made it clear that BCG vaccine is not 100% effective in preventing corona.
Shashank Joshi, dean of the Indian College of Physicians, told the media, 'BCG is undoubtedly important in building the immune system and is believed to play a role in suppressing the transmission of the virus.'
