The Dhaka Times Desk Nepal Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has claimed that Ram's birth place is not in Ayodhya, India, but in Ayodhyapuri, Madi Municipality of Chitwan, Nepal.
Nepal Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli said after the meeting with the representatives of Madi Municipality that the idol of Ram will be constructed there. Apart from this, he advised the representatives to publicize the birth of Ram in Ayodhyapuri.
A member of the delegation said that the Prime Minister said that the evidence I have indicates that Rama was born in Ayodhyapuri, Nepal, the Himalayan Times of Nepal reported on Sunday.
Oli also advised the delegation to promote Ayodhyapuri among the locals and preserve historical monuments. Subedi, chairman of Madi municipality ward no. 9, said, We also believe that Rama was born in Valmiki Ashram in Thori area of Parsar from Ayodhyapuri in Chitwan.
National Assembly member Dil Kumar Rawal said the Prime Minister has also ordered to preserve the area around Ayodhyapuri. The Prime Minister also asked the delegation to start excavation work to gather more evidence.
The Nepali Prime Minister also said that the government will provide land to make Ayodhyapuri a historical and religious place. He also ordered the installation of idols of Rama, Lakshmana and Sita.
On behalf of the delegation, the Prime Minister of Nepal was told that they will try to change the name of Madi municipality to Ayodhyapuri. This will increase the religious importance of the place.
Just a few days ago, Oli had claimed Nepal as the birthplace of Ram and Ayodhya. After that he was heavily criticized inside and outside the country. India's ruling Bharatiya Janata Party also issued a statement rejecting his claim. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently laid the foundation stone for the construction of Ram Temple on the site of the historic Babri Masjid in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh. The Indian court ordered the construction of a Ram temple there.
It should be noted that this time, after this demand of the Nepali Prime Minister, a new controversy arose regarding the demolition of the historic mosque in Ayodhya, India. All the Muslims, including the Muslims of India, have been claiming for a long time that there is no temple on the site of the historic Babri Masjid of several hundred years ago or that it is not the birthplace of Ram. Their demand has become stronger now.
