Farmer's son Yoshihide Suga became the Prime Minister of Japan!

The Dhaka Times Desk 71-year-old Yoshihide Suga, former Cabinet Secretary of Japan, has been elected as the new Prime Minister. A farmer's son of Ajparagaon was elected as the Prime Minister of the country by the Parliament.

Suga, known as his right-hand man, took over as prime minister last Wednesday after his predecessor Shinzo Abe resigned due to ill health. Previously, he won a massive vote as the head of the ruling Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) on Monday. Suga received 314 of the 462 validly counted votes for members of parliament.

Sugar was born in a small village in the Akita district of northern Japan. His father was a strawberry farmer and mother a school teacher. At the age of 18, he left the village and came to Tokyo. Suga paid his way through university by working in a cardboard factory. Suga graduated from night school at Hosei University in 1973 with a law degree. One of the reasons to study there is to pursue studies at the 'lowest cost'.

This is where the difference between Abe and Suga becomes apparent. Abe's father was Japan's foreign minister and his grandfather was the prime minister. Suga, on the other hand, has had a tough road to get this far.

Suga then started his political career in 1986 as a legislative secretary of the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP). Suga was elected a member of the Yokohama Municipal Assembly in 1987. Later in 1996, Suga was elected Member of Parliament from Kanazawa Province.

In 2005, he was also a member of the cabinet of the then Prime Minister of Japan, Junichiro Koizumi. Later, the influence of sugar increased during Abe's time. He served as the Cabinet Principal Secretary in the Abe administration, the most senior position after the Prime Minister. Known to journalists as Soga (Iron Wall).

Without communication and political experience, Suga's only asset was hard work. He also got the reward for this hard work.

Sugar's journey on an impossible path was based on advanced thinking, sophisticated behavior and qualities and hard work. Who today became the Prime Minister of Japan from a farmer's son.

While announcing his candidacy, he announced the continuation of various programs started by longtime Prime Minister Abe. Among which Abe's 'economic strategy' Abenomics is one of them.

After assuming responsibility, he will have to face various adversities in addition to dealing with highly contagious corona virus. Due to the epidemic, the country's economy is also in a crisis.
