The Dhaka Times Desk The United States on Sunday announced the reimposition of UN-imposed sanctions against Iran, thumbing down the UN Security Council decision. Iran reacted strongly to Washington's decision without regard to any rules.
At a cabinet meeting on Sunday, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani called the United States a "thug state" and said Tehran would never bow to pressure.
He also said that the United States has illegally reimposed sanctions against Iran, despite the rejection by almost all countries of the Security Council and all parties to the nuclear deal. Of course Washington will get the answer. To get something from the Iranian nation, it must be done by showing respect and using elegant language, but never by threats or pressure.
For the sake of establishing peace in the Middle East, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has advocated the reimposition of sanctions against Iran. He also said that Washington imposed a blockade against Tehran mainly for the security of the countries in the region including Israel.
