Now a Swedish shipbuilding company is thinking about such a discovery. They recently announced a tie-up with a ship design firm to build a winged vessel.
According to a report by The Driven, the new ship will be able to reduce carbon emissions by up to 90 percent. Which will be built in association with ship design company Wallenias Marine. This ship will have 4 massive wings. This ship is expected to start sailing through the Atlantic Ocean from 2024. This ship can carry 6-7 thousand cars together!
The report further informed that the names 'Oceanbird' and 'The Wind Power Car Carrier' or 'WPCC' have already been initially selected for the ship. Wallenius Marine claims that this design is going to usher in a new era for ships.
The newly invented ship will use much less fossil fuel to operate than the Freiner ship. Currently, the world's approximately 450 large vehicle-carrying ships use approximately 40 tons of fossil fuels per day.
Earlier this year, however, a small model of 'Oceanbird' was successfully floated in the ocean. If everything goes well, this new ship full of new technology will enter the sea in 2024. Its length is about 656 feet and width is 131 feet. Its full height will be 328 feet with a wide spread sail. So definitely, this ship is going to be the tallest ship in the world!
