Police final report in court. The case against Salman is false

The Dhaka Times Desk As the investigation of MP Gholam Mawla Roni's case to the police proved false, action has been taken against Roni. This application was made in the final report of the police in the court.

It is known that since the allegations of attempted murder and kidnapping were not proved in the investigation, the police has submitted a final report recommending the release of Salman F Rahman, one of the owners of Independent Television and two journalists. On the other hand, an application has been made to take action against ruling party MP Golam Mawla Roni for the crime of filing a case on false charges.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Shahriar Mahamud Adnan accepted the application filed yesterday on July 30. At the same time, he set a date for the hearing on August 21. The investigating officer of the case, Sub-Inspector Abu Zafar of Shahbag police station submitted this report to the court. According to the report, on July 20, Imtiaz Momin went to MP Roni's office at Meherba Plaza in the capital to collect news for Independent Television's investigative program 'Talaash', accompanied by cameraman Bakul. In the video, MP Roni himself kicks the reporter and cameraman. That afternoon, Yunus Ali, the assistant manager of Independent Television, filed a case against Roni on charges of attempted murder. 20 to 25 unknown people including Roni are accused in the case. Attempted murder, assault and vandalism were alleged in the case. On the same day, Roni also filed a counter-suit accusing Salman F. Rahman, one of the owners of Independent Television, along with those two journalists who were tortured. On July 21, Roni surrendered to the CMM court in Dhaka and got bail in the case of beating a journalist. But later, in view of the plaintiff's bail application, the magistrate court canceled his bail on July 24 and he was arrested on the same day. He was sent to jail the next day.

Note that Roni is currently in Kashimpur jail in the above case. On August 13, it is said that Roni's bail application will be heard in Dhaka's Metropolitan Sessions Judge's Court.
