The view of the beautiful mosque that you can see is the historic Machin Mosque of Manikganj. This mosque was built in 1501 by Hussain Shah.
The ancient Machin Jame Mosque of Manikganj is still standing as a witness of the times. Tri-domed and attractively architectural, this mosque is considered one of the oldest in the country. According to the inscription, this mosque was built in 1501 by Hussain Shah.
Most of the Muslim antiquities of Manikganj were established during the independent Sultanate period of Bengal and its subsequent Muslim rule. Among the few Jama Masjids established during this period, the mosque in Machine village is one of them. Machine was originally a prominent village during the independent Sultanate period. Here a dervish used to meditate on a bamboo loft. The name of this dervish is Hazrat Shah Rustom. At present, visiting the shrine of Shah Rustam in Machain village is a matter of great respect for the people of Manikganj district and surrounding areas. The historic shrine and the old mosque of this Machain village have been established as two special examples of Muslim antiquity in Manikganj.
