The Dhaka Times Desk Birthday festival is a joyous day in the life of any person especially it is more so for children. But sometimes, due to some incident, a sad tone comes down. A 3-year-old child shot himself on his birthday and died!
One such incident happened with a family living in Texas, USA. A 3-year-old child shot himself in the chest at a birthday party. Even with treatment, he could not be saved in the end.
This incident happened recently in Porter, Texas. The family and relatives of the deceased child were celebrating their birthday. The child was found by his parents with gunshot wounds, according to ABC News.
ABC News also reported, quoting the Montgomery County Police Chief, that police went to the child's home after the child's family notified them. The child was rescued with gunshot wounds and taken to a nearby fire station. He was treated there but could not be saved.
Investigation revealed that the child had found a firearm belonging to a relative who had come to the birthday party. He shot himself in the chest while playing with it. After some time, the parents rescued their injured child.
The name of the deceased child has not been released as he was under 5 years of age. It is not known which relative he actually got the weapon from. Police said no one is even giving any confession about the weapon due to efforts to keep the firearm safe.
