The Dhaka Times Desk Sony recently released a new software version for Mac operating system called 'Imaging Edge Webcam'. Because of this, the cameras can be used as high-quality webcams by Mac computer users.
Sony released a version of this software for Windows computers in August this year. According to the report of the technology site Verge, due to the new version, Mac users can also use high-quality video calls using Sony's camera. The company also said that the new software will work with a total of 36 Sony cameras, including the latest E-mount and A-mount series.
Sony has also stated that the software will not support older devices like the original A7 or A6000. However, customers can manually connect them to Mac computers using an HDMI capture card.
Canon, Olympus, Panasonic, Fujifilm and GoPro have already released their own webcam software. Sony is at the bottom of the list among the camera companies.
