From Sunday, the first day of the third phase of Umrah, foreigners are also getting the opportunity to perform Umrah and visit the Prophet's Mosque. This news has been confirmed in an information of Arab News.
Amid the Corona situation, 6,000 people have been allowed daily for the first phase of Umrah, which began on October 4, which is 30 percent of the total capacity. In the first phase, only Saudi nationals and expatriates were allowed to perform Umrah.
On the other hand, in the second phase on October 18, this capacity was increased to 75 percent and at least 15,000 people were allowed to perform Umrah per day.
Now in the third phase foreigners are allowed to perform Umrah. From now on, at least 20,000 people can perform Umrah in a day.
Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah. Amr Al-Maddah said that foreigners arriving must first have a permit. After arriving in Saudi, they will be in isolation for three days before going to Mika.
Incoming foreigners can stay in Saudi Arabia for a total of 10 days, including three days of isolation. They will be given the opportunity to perform Umrah in 500 groups of 20 people each. Also no one can be more than 50 years old.
Saudi authorities stopped Umrah at the beginning of March to prevent corona infection. 1.6 million people go to Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah every year.
According to Worldometer, more than 347,000 people have been diagnosed with corona in Saudi Arabia so far. And about 5 thousand 400 people died.
