The Dhaka Times Desk Injection means pain. So hearing the name of injection scares many people. The days of fear are over. Kharagpur IIT in India's West Bengal has invented a 'needle' that makes injections less painful. This needle is called micro needle.
The new project has been financially supported by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology and the Department of Science and Technology of the country's central government. IIT Kharagpur has discovered one such needle that is thinner than a hair. Where human hair is 50-70 millimeters thick, this needle is only 55 millimeters thick!
Researchers at one of the country's best educational institutes have also discovered a suitable pump. They call this 'micro pump'. Professor Tarunkanti Bhattacharya, Researcher of Department of Electronic and Electrical Communication Engineering, Kharagpur IIT, is behind this innovation. It will also be very effective in vaccination against Corona.
Insulin or other pain medications can also be given by this special injection. It is a type of patch, much like a bandage, that when applied to the skin, the drug enters the body, the researchers said. A pin has about 100 needles, but it is finer than a hair.
Because of this it cannot even touch the sensory nerves, and therefore pain is not felt. It should be noted that in several countries, including the United States, this transdermal, painless way of delivering drugs across the skin is very popular and widely used.
The application of the micro needle in animal body is very successful, now it will come to the market only after the trial is completed in human body. Researchers have already applied for a patent for it. The organization's success was recently published in the journal Nature and IEEE.
Things to do to prevent Corona virus
# stay at home all the time.
# Follow the rules and use mask when going out for emergency.
# three-layer surgical mask can be washed if desired.
# wash clothes after coming home from outside. Or hang it without shaking for at least four hours.
# Wash hands thoroughly (for at least 20 seconds) with soap or liquid before coming outside.
# plastic PPE or eyes, mouth, head after single use
Of course it can be washed thoroughly with detergent and dried.
# Wear PPE made of cloth or clean as described.
# Use a head cap that completely covers the hair.
# Those who have sneeze cough should follow all the rules promulgated by the government. Also, wash hands as directed before and after handling food items, keys, switches, mice, remote controls, mobiles, watches, computer desks, TVs, etc. and after using the bathroom. Those who have dry hands use Moisture after washing their hands. Soap or hand liquid can be used. Why can this virus remain in the crackle (cracked part) of dry hands? Avoid using highly alkaline soaps or detergents.
