Officials appointed the 55 Electoral College of California to vote for Biden, ensuring his majority.
According to a New York Daily News report, the number of Electoral Colleges committed to vote for Biden stood at 279 after California Secretary of State Alex Padilla officially certified the state's election results. 270 electoral votes are required to win the election.
These steps are nothing more than formalities in the US presidential election. However, President Donald Trump's secret actions regarding the election have added a new dimension.
Still, Donald Trump denies the victory of rival Joe Biden and continues to fight legal battles to overturn the results of the election.
